About Crossgates Primrose YFC
Club history
Crossgates Juniors FC was founded in 2007 in response to a clear need for greater access to youth football opportunities within the village of Crossgates. What began as a single team has since grown into a thriving club, now supporting multiple age groups and providing opportunities for young players at various stages of development.
In 2013, the club merged with the local junior side, forming what is now proudly known as Crossgates Primrose Youth FC — strengthening our roots within the community and enhancing the pathway for young players from grassroots football into the adult Crossgates Primrose football club.
Where we are
The club is based in the village of Crossgates, just east of Dunfermline, in the heart of Fife. Our teams train at venues across the area — including Dunfermline High School, Dunfermline Learning Campus and grass pitches near Humbug Park — and play matches at venues such as Pitreavie Soccer and Sport Centre.
Our mission
To provide a safe, inclusive, and enjoyable football environment where every young person can develop their skills, confidence, and character. We aim to inspire a lifelong love of the game by promoting teamwork, respect, discipline, and sportsmanship both on and off the pitch.
Our vision
To be recognised as a leading community youth football club in Fife — one that nurtures talent, celebrates diversity, and develops players who embody the values of respect, resilience, and responsibility. We aspire to create pathways for every child to enjoy football at their own level, from grassroots participation to advanced performance.
Our values
Respect
Fairness, kindness and dignity for teammates, opponents, coaches, officials and volunteers alike.
Integrity
Honesty, transparency and responsibility, on the pitch and off it.
Inclusion
Football is for everyone, regardless of ability, background or gender.
Teamwork
Success is built on collective effort — players, coaches and volunteers together.
Enjoyment
Football should be fun. Effort, learning and participation are what we celebrate.
Development
Growing as people as well as footballers — building confidence, resilience and life skills.
